Work as a Diesel Mechanic for E.J. Harrison & Sons
We are looking for a diesel mechanic to join our team. This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance and a variety of repairs on company vehicles. The position is crucial to the safety and productive operation of the fleet. You must be able to perform repairs and services required on company vehicles according to all local, state and federal guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform repairs and maintenance on front-end loader vehicles, automated residential vehicles, roll-off vehicles and all other support vehicles to maximize safe and productive operations (repairs include work on chassis, body components, brake systems, suspension systems, wheels, and tires)
- Read job orders and observe and listen to trucks in operation to determine malfunctions and to plan work procedures
- Perform work in compliance with D.O.T. safety standards
- Ensure proper completion of work orders associated with vehicle repairs, document parts usage, and test repairs
- Upon completion of assignments, provide signatures on all inspection reports
- Meet set standards developed by the maintenance department
- Be knowledgeable and capable of performing repairs in an efficient, effective and timely manner
- Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks, and makes adjustments
- Perform other maintenance-related work issued by a supervisor or lead person
- Respond to “road calls” as needed
- Attend all safety meetings
- Follow all E.J. Harrison & Sons, Inc. rules and policies, environmental compliance and housekeeping
- Perform various other tasks assigned by supervisors

- Proper attire: is able to work utilizing safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, uniform, hearing protection and other personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the Company’s safety policy
- Ability to perform tasks: job duties require the employee to regularly stand and walk, sit and stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl; use hands to find, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and talk or hear; and to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes of airborne particles and outside weather conditions.
