A note to our new and returning customers

Greetings to you all! As we prepare for the holiday season and 2024, we want you to know that we are thrilled to have you as a part of our Harrison family.

Starting Jan.1, 2024, our new contract with Ventura County takes effect. For our existing customers, the contract ensures that we’ll continue managing your trash and recycling service for years to come. For our many new customers, we’re honored to begin serving you and all of your residential trash and recycling needs.

We hope you’ll all spend a little time exploring this site. There’s a wealth of information here, including a comprehensive Q&A about Harrison and the services, guidelines and programs we have to serve you; and about new state recycling laws that we are dedicated to observing.

You’ll specifically learn about California Senate Bill 1383, which requires the diversion of organic waste from landfills and mandates residential food recycling. The recycling of organics is an imperative, not only because it’s the law but because it’s the right thing to do. Decomposition of organic materials at landfills creates methane, a greenhouse gas 84 times more potent than carbon dioxide when it comes to global warming.

Working with our community partners at Oxnard-based Agromin, Harrison is developing two massive, local, state-of-the-art organic waste recycling facilities.
