Harrison Seeks a Skilled Welder
We need a welder to join our team, to perform necessary welding repairs on commercial vehicles, trash bins and roll-off boxes, in compliance with DOT safety standards. This person is responsible for preparing and repairing broken or cracked metal parts, as well as parts maintenance and rebuilds, all in compliance with company safety rules, policies and regulations and with OSHA and environmental guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform necessary welding repairs on company commercial vehicles
- Perform necessary welding repairs on trash bins and roll-off boxes
- Perform necessary work in compliance with DOT safety standards
- Repair broken or cracked metal parts
- Prepare broken parts for welding by grooving or scarfing surfaces
- Preheat work piece with hand torch or heating furnace when necessary
- Repair and maintain all hydraulic components including valves, hoses, cylinders and controls on the vehicles
- Rebuild hydraulic components including valves, hoses, cylinders and controls as needed
- Ensure proper completion of work orders associated with vehicle repairs, document parts usage and testing repairs
- Read, follow and complete work orders in a timely manner
- Examine protective guards, check loose bolts, nuts and specified safety devices, and make all necessary adjustments
- Perform diagnostic checks and troubleshoot all major hydraulic components
- Review work orders; listen and observe truck components in operation to determine any malfunction
- Make repairs or adjustments necessary after a malfunction has been detected
- Perform other maintenance-related work issued by the supervisor or lead person
- Follow all company safety rules, policies and regulations

Qualifications
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience with arc, MIG and TIG welding a MUST FOR THE EXPERIENCED WELDER
- Minimum 1 year of experience with arc, MIG and TIG welding a MUST FOR THE ENTRY-LEVEL WELDER
- Experience with a cutting torch
- Extensive knowledge of welding tools to perform essential functions of the job
- Must have steel-toed boots
- Knowledge of hand and power tools to perform essential functions of the job
- Ability to apply common sense
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Overtime is a requirement of the job
- Experience with structural steel welding
- Experience with stainless steel and pipe welding
